The Gold Unlimited is where Straight Talk starts bundling perks.
At $55 per month, it adds a Walmart+ Mobile membership and 100 GB of cloud storage on top of the Silver tier's unlimited data and network-choice model. Whether those additions justify the $12.50 premium over Silver depends almost entirely on whether the Walmart+ membership has any value in a given household. Walmart+ Mobile is essentially Walmart's membership program - free delivery, fuel discounts, Paramount+ Essential, and a few other benefits - packaged into the phone plan.
For someone already paying $12.95 per month for Walmart+, the math is straightforward: the Gold plan covers the membership cost and adds 5 GB more hotspot. For everyone else, it is $12.50 more per month for features they may never use. Straight Talk's multi-network SIM selection carries over from the lower tiers.
