Frequently asked questions about Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan
What features does Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan include?
The TracFone Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan delivers the same unlimited features as shorter-term Freedom Unlimited plans — unlimited data, 15GB hotspot, and Canada/Mexico roaming — at an effective $40/mo by prepaying for 12 months. This represents a $10/mo savings over the 1-month plan rate, making it TracFone's best value for long-term unlimited subscribers.
TracFone operates as an MVNO across multiple major carrier networks. The 12-month plan maximizes cost savings for subscribers who want unlimited wireless service at the lowest possible prepaid rate without switching carriers. A $4.99 activation fee applies.
How much data, talk, and text does Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan include?
The TracFone Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan includes unlimited talk, unlimited text, and unlimited data per month over the 12-month service period. 15GB of dedicated mobile hotspot data is included per month. Data speeds may be reduced during periods of network congestion. Canada and Mexico roaming is included for calls and data.
What is the network speed on Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan?
The TracFone Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan operates on TracFone's MVNO networks with access to major carrier infrastructure. As a prepaid plan, data speeds may be subject to deprioritization during periods of heavy network congestion. Hotspot speeds apply up to the 15GB monthly allotment, after which hotspot speeds are reduced.
Does Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan include mobile hotspot?
The TracFone Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan includes 15GB of dedicated mobile hotspot data per month throughout the 12-month service term. Subscribers can share their cellular connection with other devices up to the 15GB monthly allotment. After 15GB of hotspot use per month, hotspot speeds are reduced for the remainder of that billing cycle.
What happens if you exceed your data on Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan?
The TracFone Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan does not charge data overage fees. Unlimited data is included each month, and after the 15GB hotspot allotment per month is used, hotspot speeds are reduced rather than additional charges being applied.

The TracFone Freedom Unlimited Data 12-Month Smartphone Plan is a prepaid plan paid upfront for 12 months of service. A $4.99 activation fee applies. There is no ongoing automatic contract renewal, but the 12-month service period is prepaid at enrollment. Standard TracFone prepaid terms apply.
