The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 was Samsung's 2024 clamshell foldable. It brought a significant camera upgrade over the Flip5 - a 50 MP main sensor replacing the 12 MP - and added mmWave 5G support alongside Sub6. The cover display remained at a similar size but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor stepped up. At the time of this writing, the Flip6 is available at Verizon for $306.99 outright, a price that fundamentally changes the value calculation for a flagship clamshell foldable.
At $307, the Flip6 is a deal. The 6.7-inch main display, 50 MP camera system, mmWave 5G, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are all substantive specs for the price. The tradeoffs are a 4000 mAh battery with 25W charging (not fast by 2026 standards), an IP48 rating that is weaker than IP68 on most competing phones, and 2640 x 1080 px resolution that is lower than the Ultra flagship panels. But at a third of its original launch price, those tradeoffs become easy to accept for anyone attracted to the clamshell form factor.
