But within its category and at its best price, the Galaxy A03s is an excellent choice for budget shoppers who want Samsung reliability and a feature-rich experience. We'd strongly recommend the TracFone $14.99 or Gen Mobile $79 refurbished options over the $99 new price from Ultra Mobile — the same hardware for significantly less.

“The Samsung Galaxy A03s carries no water resistance whatsoever — a glaring omission in 2024 when even some $100 devices offer at least splash protection. One unexpected spill and a $14.99 phone becomes a $14.99 paperweight. Beyond that, the Helio P35 processor was already showing its age when the A03s launched in 2021, and three years later it's firmly in the "sluggish" category for anyone used to mid-range performance. The HD+ display at 270 PPI is soft and a step behind. Three gigabytes of RAM is genuinely limiting. And while the triple camera system sounds impressive, two of those three lenses are 2 MP sensors — a depth camera and a macro lens that barely improve on what a single-camera phone can do with software. The A03s at $99 new from Ultra Mobile is harder to justify than the same phone refurbished for $14.99 — that's a 6x price difference for a phone that was mid-budget at launch and is definitively entry-level today.”
