Our take

The S25 family's sweet spot - flagship speed, a big battery, and reverse wireless charging in a 6.7-inch frame.

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ occupies the middle position in the S25 lineup, and it is the one that makes the most sense for the broadest set of buyers. It carries the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 3120 x 1440 px Dynamic LTPO AMOLED display as the S25 Edge and Ultra, adds a 4900 mAh battery with 45W wired charging that neither the base S25 nor the Edge can match, and includes 4W reverse wireless charging. The camera system runs 50 MP main, 10 MP 3x telephoto, and 12 MP ultrawide - the same triple setup as the base S25 but on a larger chassis with better thermal headroom.

At around $631 from Verizon, the S25+ sits between the base S25 and the Ultra without demanding the premium of the latter. There are tradeoffs: carrier availability is limited to AT&T and Verizon only, which restricts where it can be purchased and used. Body material data is sparse in early listings. The lack of mmWave 5G may matter in dense urban environments. But for anyone who wants the full Snapdragon 8 Elite experience with a large battery and fast charging, the S25+ delivers that combination more completely than either the base S25 or the S25 Edge.

What we love
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite with 12 GB RAM - same flagship chip as the S25 Ultra
  • 4900 mAh battery with 45W wired charging for a full day and fast top-ups
  • 3120 x 1440 LTPO AMOLED at 2600 nits - reference-class display
  • 4W reverse wireless charging for accessories
  • 3x optical telephoto adds zoom versatility
  • IP68 water resistance
What we don't
  • Only available at AT&T and Verizon - limited carrier choice
  • No mmWave 5G
  • No S Pen - that remains an Ultra exclusive
  • No microSD expansion
  • Body material specs not publicly confirmed at launch

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Samsung Galaxy S25+

What kind of display does the Samsung Galaxy S25+ have?
The 6.7-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel runs at 3120 x 1440 px and 2600 nits peak brightness. The LTPO architecture enables variable refresh rates, dropping below 120 Hz on static content to reduce power draw and scaling up during motion. This panel is effectively identical to what the S25 Ultra and S25 Edge carry in its core specifications. It is among the brightest and sharpest mid-size displays in the Android market. The 120 Hz ceiling handles gaming and fast-scrolling social feeds smoothly.
What kind of camera does the Samsung Galaxy S25+ have?
The S25+ triple-camera system mirrors the base S25: 50 MP main, 12 MP ultrawide, 10 MP 3x telephoto. The main sensor uses Samsung's ProVisual Engine and multi-frame processing for strong daylight and low-light performance. The 3x optical telephoto covers portrait and mid-distance subjects; digital zoom is available beyond that but degrades. The ultrawide captures environmental shots. Night mode is available on all three lenses. Galaxy AI editing tools - including Generative Edit and Object Eraser - are present. Front camera is a 12 MP shooter.
What is the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S25+?
4900 mAh with 45W wired charging is the combination that separates the S25+ from the base S25 and S25 Edge. A 30-minute wired charge should recover roughly 60-70 percent capacity. Full charge takes approximately 65 minutes. Wireless charging tops at 15W. The 4W reverse wireless charging can slowly top up Galaxy Buds or a watch. Real-world screen-on time in the 7-9 hour range is reasonable for this battery size and processor pairing.
What processor does the Samsung Galaxy S25+ use?
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) is the same high-performance chip across the S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, and S25+. The 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM handles heavy multitasking and Galaxy AI inference tasks responsively. The larger chassis of the S25+ provides better thermal dissipation than the S25 Edge's thinner body, which may allow slightly longer sustained performance in demanding workloads like gaming or video processing.
How much storage does the Samsung Galaxy S25+ have?
256 GB UFS 3.1 internal storage is the base configuration. No microSD slot is available. 256 GB is sufficient for most primary phone setups, and Samsung's One Drive integration extends storage options for cloud-first setups.
What kind of speakers does the Samsung Galaxy S25+ have?
Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning - earpiece tweeter plus bottom-firing woofer - provide solid media playback. The larger S25+ chassis gives the speaker array slightly more acoustic volume than the thinner S25 Edge. Clarity and separation are above average for the class. Not the loudest in the category, but consistently good quality.
Does the Samsung Galaxy S25+ support fingerprint or face unlock?
The ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor handles primary authentication. It works reliably with wet or slightly dirty fingers, outperforming optical sensors in those conditions. Face unlock via the 12 MP front camera is available as a secondary method. Both work with Samsung Pay for mobile transactions.
Is the Samsung Galaxy S25+ water-resistant?
IP68 rates the S25+ for up to 1.5 m of fresh water submersion for 30 minutes. Rain, splashes, and brief submersion are within the protection window. Pool chemicals, salt water, and high-pressure water jets are not covered. Physical seals degrade over time with normal wear.
