Check For Software Updates On Your Google Pixel

1 min read

Android and Google regularly release updates to the Google Pixel’s operating system. To keep your cell phone running properly, it helps to regularly download these updates as they’re released.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap System.
  3. Tap Advanced.
  4. Tap System Update.
  5. When prompted, select Check For Update.

How To Install New Updates:

  1. Tap Download.
  2. Tap Okay.
  3. Give your Pixel some time to complete the installation process.

Why this works:

When an Android phone falls behind on software updates, it can begin to encounter a number of errors. Making sure that your Pixel’s up to date with the latest available operating system will help minimize potential malfunctions.

Pro tip:

Before updating your Google Pixel, plug it in to a power source. It can take a while for these updates to install completely, and the last thing you want is for your phone to run out of battery before it finishes updating.

It’s also possible that your Pixel’s already running on the most recent software update available. If you don’t find any available updates, don’t worry! Just move on to the next troubleshooting tip.
