Erase Your Google Pixel With Another Device

1 min read

If you can access your Google account from another device, it’s possible to erase your data remotely. While this may not seem like an overtly helpful step in theory, it may be your only choice depending on the error your Pixel’s experiencing.

  1. Log into your Google account on another device with WiFi or cellular capabilities.
  2. Open Google Find My Device.
  3. Select your Google Pixel.
  4. Click Erase.
  5. Restore the most recent backup of your Pixel’s data you have saved.

Why this works:

If the malfunction your Pixel’s experiencing prevents you from being able to access your device’s settings directly, erasing your data from another device might resolve the problem you’re encountering.

Pro tip:

It’s helpful to regularly save a backup of your Google Pixel’s data to a cloud storage space or external device, just in case it malfunctions seriously enough to warrant clearing your information from the phone completely.

There are a few other conditions you need to meet to successfully erase your Pixel’s data from another device. Namely, you’ll need your phone to be turned on and signed into your Google Account. You’ll also need to have a WiFi or data connection enabled, as well as the Find My Device feature.
