Google Pixel 3 Not Ringing_ Here's The Fix.

Google Pixel 3 Not Ringing? Here’s The Fix.

You pick up your phone and see several missed calls, so you check to make sure your phone isn't on silent. The problem still happens, and it turns out your Google Pixel 3 won't ring. We know how frustrating this can be, and so in this article we'll help you get your ringer working again.

Unknown Callers May Be Silenced

Google released a new update recently that silences unknown callers on your Google Pixel. This was introduced to prevent telemarketers from reaching you, so your Google Pixel 3 won't ring for an unknown caller. This might be where you're missed calls are coming from, so check to see if you have this update on your phone that could be causing the issue.

Turn Off Silent Mode

This step may seem self explanatory, but we want to insure you've tried everything to fix your Google Pixel 3 not ringing before taking it in for repair. To do this, press either of the Volume buttons on the side of your phone and the sound settings will appear on the right-hand side of your screen. At the top, select the Sound Mode Icon to toggle Silent Mode on and off.

Turn Ringer Up All The Way

To double-check your phone's ringer is up all the way, start by pressing either of the Volume buttons to open the sound settings. Select the Settings icon at the bottom of the menu that appears and this will take you to a separate menu of volume settings. Here, move the Ringer slider all the way to the right at it's maximum volume.

Turn Off Do Not Disturb

If your Google Pixel 3 won't ring after you've tried the steps above, then we recommend checking your Do Not Disturb settings. When enabled, Do Not Disturb blocks notifications, including phone calls and texts, from appearing on your screen. Simply swipe down from the top of your screen, and then select the Do Not Disturb icon to disable or enable it.

Clean Out The Charging Port

There may be debris in your charging port causing your Google Pixel 3 not to ring. If there's lint or dirt inside it your phone may think that there are headphones plugged in and it won't ring. To clean out your charging port we recommend using a new toothbrush or an anti-static brush for your safety.

Repair Your Pixel 3

If the issue still occurs, then it's possible your Pixel 3 is broken. We recommend reaching out to Google support for assistance to get your Google Pixel 3 ringing again.

Upgrade Your Pixel 3

Did you know that the Pixel 3 was first released in late 2018? That's not terribly long ago as of the writing of this article. However, it might be time for an upgrade.

The Pixel 4, although discontinued, is a solid phone, as is the Pixel 4a that will be coming out soon. The Pixel 5 is also set to release soon, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, check out UpPhone's phone comparison tool to find a phone that meets your needs!
