Password Protect The App Store

1 min read
  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Select Password Settings.
  4. Select Always Require under Purchases And In-App Purchases.
  5. Flip the switch labelled Require Password into the On position.

Why this works:

If you’ve had your iPhone for a while, it’s likely that you don’t need to enter a password every time you install a new app. However, it’s possible to adjust this setting to ensure that the App Store requires you to re-enter your password every time you would like to download something new.

Taking this precaution will make it harder for another party to install something on your iPhone without your permission. This is a great step to take if you’re concerned about your digital security.

Pro tip:

If you previously set up your iPhone to use Touch ID or Facial Recognition for the App Store, the Password Settings options will not be available to you.
