Reset Your AirPods Max

1 min read

A reset forces your AirPods Max to temporarily power down and cease their Bluetooth connections. It’s just like turning your iPhone off and back on.

  1. Make sure your AirPods Max are charged. If you’re unsure, plug your AirPods Max into a power source and let them charge for a while.
  2. When you’re ready, press and hold the Noise Control button and Digital Crown at the same time.
  3. Continue holding both buttons until the status light on your AirPods Max shines amber.
  4. Reconnect your AirPods Max to your compatible devices.

Why this works:

Resetting your AirPods Max can give them a fresh start when they’re experiencing a software issue. After the reset is complete, it’ll be as if you were connecting your AirPods Max to your device for the very first time.

Pro tip:

  • If you’d like to factory reset your AirPods Max, continue holding both the Noise Control button and Digital crown until the status light turns from yellow to white.
