Reset App Preferences On Your Samsung Galaxy

1 min read

Resetting App Preferences does exactly what it sounds like — resets all the settings of your apps to factory defaults. This includes:

  • Disabled apps
  • Disabled app notifications
  • Defaults apps for actions
  • Background data restrictions for apps
  • App permission restrictions
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap on the three dot icon in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Tap Reset App Preferences.
  5. Tap Reset Apps.
  6. Restart your Samsung Galaxy.

Why this works:

It can be very difficult to track down a specific software problem within a specific app. Rather than trying to diagnose and troubleshoot every single app, we’ll restore everything to factory defaults at the same time.

Pro tip:

  • You won’t lose any saved data within your apps when you Reset App Preferences.
