Reset Network Settings On Your Google Pixel

1 min read

Smartphones record a history of every wireless connection they’ve made in their Network Settings. This record includes information about every Bluetooth, Cellular, and WiFi network the device has ever accessed. This is also where your phone saves WiFi passwords.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Advanced.
  3. Tap Reset Options.
  4. Select WiFi, Mobile, and Bluetooth.
  5. Confirm the reset by tapping Reset Settings.
  6. Enter your PIN or security code if you use one to unlock your Pixel.
  7. Give your Pixel a few minutes to reset.

Why this works:

Resetting Network Settings can resolve a lot of different errors involving cellular data or WiFi. Completing this step just might get rid of the malfunction your Pixel’s currently experiencing.

Pro tip:

While this step shouldn’t alter anything besides your Pixel’s network settings, it wouldn’t hurt to backup your device before beginning this reset. Luckily, it’s very easy to upload your photos, videos and documents directly to Google Drive from a Pixel phone!
