Take Your iPhone Out Of Its Case

1 min read
  1. Remove your iPhone from your MagSafe charger.
  2. Take your iPhone out of its case.
  3. Place your iPhone back on the MagSafe Charger.

Why this works:

If an iPhone case is too thick, a MagSafe Charger might not be able to charge through it. Try taking your iPhone out of its case and placing it directly on the MagSafe Charger to create a better connection.

If you have an iPhone with MagSafe, like the iPhone 12, you might expect your case to be compatible with a MagSafe Charger. However, MagSafe Chargers are only guaranteed to work with MagSafe cases. Many companies still make iPhone 12 cases that don’t feature MagSafe.

If you’d like to avoid this problem in the future, consider purchasing a MagSafe iPhone case.

Pro tip:

  • If you use your iPhone case to store anything magnetic, such as a credit card, be extra careful. If something else magnetic comes in contact with the MagSafe Charger, the MagSafe Charger can be permanently damaged.
  • Apple warns that, if you keep your iPhone in a leather case, the MagSafe charger might leave marks on the leather over time.
