1 min read

Wiping the cache partition clears temporary files that have been stored on your Samsung Galaxy. This includes operating system files and leftover files from apps you’ve deleted.

  1. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy.
  2. Simultaneously press the Volume Up and Bixby button.
  3. Wait three seconds, then press and hold the Power button.
  4. Release all three buttons when you see the Samsung logo appear on the screen.
  5. Use the volume keys to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition.
  6. Press the power button to initiate the wipe.
  7. Select Yes to confirm your decision.
  8. Wait while the phone clears the cache. A message will scroll across the screen when the cache has been cleared.
  9. Use the volume buttons to navigate to Reboot System Now.
  10. Press the power button to reboot your Samsung Galaxy.
  11. Again using the power button, select Reboot System Now.
  12. Your Samsung Galaxy will turn on again.

Why this works:

Clearing the cache partition can free up storage space, speed up your Samsung Galaxy, and occasionally fix lingering software issues.
