The Best Workout Bikes For Apple Fitness+

One of the most exciting aspects of Apple's new service, Apple Fitness+, is that it's compatible with such a wide array of equipment and settings. Even so, you may be interested in purchasing some new gear to use with your subscription. Since Apple hasn't published any recommendations, here are some of the best exercise bikes for Apple Fitness+!

  1. Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike
  2. Life Fitness C3 Lifecycle Bike
  3. Cybex 70T Cardio Console
  4. Peloton Bike

Features To Look For

Before you make the investment in a new stationary bike, you'll want to consider what you need from your workout equipment.

Is The Bike GymKit Compatible?

One feature we recommend for your exercise bike is GymKit. GymKit is a program Apple set up with exercise equipment manufacturers to sync workout metrics to a user's Apple Watch. Investing in a workout bike with GymKit will ensure that you get doubly accurate readings of your heart rate and blood pressure. Each of the products we recommend below comes with GymKit.

Does The Bike Have A Media Stand?

Another helpful workout bike feature is a media stand to hold up a tablet or cell phone. Since video and audio will be such a big part of Apple Fitness+, having a media stand will help keep you entertained and engaged while you workout.

Does The Bike Connect To Bluetooth?

Many high-end stationary bikes can connect to other devices over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. While this isn't a deal-breaker, it can make tracking your progress even simpler!

Best Workout Bikes For Apple Fitness+

Once you know what to look for, it's time to start shopping. Below are just a few recommendations for anyone in the market for a new Apple Fitness+ exercise bike.

Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike

Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike

The first exercise bike we recommend is the Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike. Across the cardio equipment market, this bike is one of the most affordable products out there. The IC4 is designed to work with a number of online workout programs, and easily pairs with an Apple Watch.

The IC4 features 100 levels of adjustable, magnetic resistance. Regardless of how much cycling experience you have, you can challenge yourself to the exact difficulty that works for you. It connects to several iOS apps over Bluetooth, and even comes with a Bluetooth-enabled armband capable of monitoring your heart rate wirelessly.

This bike comes equipped with dual-purpose pedals, so you can choose whether you use clip-on bike shoes or regular sneakers. While it has a large LED display for settings and tracking your progress, it also features a media stand that could safely hold an iPad.

Users can adjust their IC4 vertically and horizontally to maximize comfort and efficiency. With a three year warranty and a number of different payment plan options, there's a way for everyone to enjoy the IC4 to the full effect!

Life Fitness C3 Lifecycle Bike

Life Fitness C3 Lifecycle Bike

Price: $1,899.00

The next workout bike we recommend pairing with your Apple Fitness+ account is the C3 Lifecycle Exercise Bike. In commercial gyms and homes across the United States, you'll find Life Fitness equipment ready to sync with your Apple Watch.

The C3 bike is incredibly customizable. Users can adjust the seating and handlebar position in multiple directions to ensure they get the best workout possible. While the C3 Lifestyle Bike does not have a designated shelf for media, users do have the choice between two powerful consoles for controlling their bike's settings and workout patterns.

The C3 has self-balancing pedals specially designed for slip resistance. Both of its consoles also have a small slot at the top designed to connect with your iPhone, so you can control your ride and audio simultaneously.

Another cool feature of the Life Fitness C3 is that it comes with a wireless chest band to monitor your cardio workout. With the armband and your Apple Watch, you can be sure you'll get accurate readings for all your physical metrics.

Cybex 70T Cardio Console

Cybex 70T Cardio Console

Price: $0.00

The next device we recommend for your Apple Fitness+ subscription is the Cybex 70T Cardio Console. While this piece of equipment isn't actually an exercise bike, it is still a versatile tool with GymKit connectivity.

The 70T Cardio Console attaches to an array of Cybex bikes, treadmills, and arc trainers. In addition, the Cybex 70T syncs seamlessly with many popular workout apps and video inputs. It features a 16 inch touch screen with downloadable apps for entertainment and workout tips. The Cybex 70T can also connect to your devices over Bluetooth.

Using the 70T Cardio Console with your stationary bike, you can control 5 resistance settings to simulate inclines and track conditions as you like. With 24 built-in languages and unlimited individual user profiles, the Cybex 70T will enhance your home fitness lifestyle, all while linked to your Apple Watch!

Peloton Bike

Peloton Bike

Price: $1,895.00

The final stationary bike we recommend for your home gym is the original Peloton Bike. Featuring a steel frame with a compact 4 foot by 2 foot base, there's a reason this bike is revered at the top of its class. Its aluminum pedals and ergonomically designed seat can support casual and intense cycling with comfort.

The Peloton features an easily adjustable magnetic resistance wheel. Its monitor is an enormous 21.5 inches and displays 1080p resolution video. Unique among most workout equipment, the Peloton also has a 5 MP camera to document your workout visually.

This bike is equal parts indoor cycling machine and computer, as it houses a Mediatek quad core processor, a micro USB port, and 2.0 GHz of RAM. The Peloton also features stereo speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

It's worth noting that unless you're willing to sign up for a second workout program, you'll want to hold off on adding this item to your private workout studio. Peloton requires customers to purchase their $39 per month All-Access Membership with this product. If you already have Apple Fitness+, this purchase might be redundant.
