Delete And Reinstall The Home App

1 min read
  1. Unlock your iPhone and visit the Home screen.
  2. Locate the Home app icon.
  3. Press and hold the Home app icon.
  4. When it appears, tap the little in the Home app’s corner to delete it.
  5. Tap Delete app to confirm.
  6. Wait a few minutes.
  7. Open the App Store.
  8. Search the Home app.
  9. Install the Home app once more.

Why this works:

The Home App is the central point of connection between your iPhone and your HomePod. If your HomePod has become unresponsive to your iPhone’s prompting, or it’s encountering some other connection malfunction, temporarily removing the Home app from your iPhone might give your devices the chance to form a clean connection.

Pro tip:

If you keep any of the information in your Home app protected by a password or code, you may want to write that information down somewhere else. It’s possible you’ll need to manually reconnect your Apple account and HomePod to the Home app when you download it again.
