The DuraTR comes with a tiny 2.4" QVGA TFT (240 x 320 pixels) and has a pixel density of 167 PPI. While its cousin, Kyocera DuraForce Pro, has the 5" IPS LCD 16 M color screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel screen resolution.
It comes with a single 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. It may not be much in today's standards but it gets the job done if you just want basic functionalities.
This phone has an 8 GB onboard drive with support for up to 32 GB expansion slot via microSD. For a phone with basic features, the storage capacity is more than enough. The fancier, Kyocera DuraForce Pro, has 32 GB internal drive and supports up to 256 GB.
It has front-firing 106dB speakers located near the bottom. Sound quality is good and is very loud even in noisy environments.
This device runs on MSM8909 Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core 1.1 GHz and is more than enough for a phone with basic functions. It's more refined cousin, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro, has the Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 Octa-core (4x1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.2 GHz Cortex-A53).
Powering the phone is a big 2900 mAh battery, especially considering that this device is not power hungry. It can keep a conversation going for 19 hours and has a standby time of an amazing 27 days.
The DuraTR is rated IP68 making it dustproof and water-resistant. It can survive water depths of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
