This device comes in with a 5" AMOLED 16M colors with a 1080 x 1920 pixels and is covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In comparison, the Google Pixel also has the same screen but has the older Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
This device is equipped with a 12.2 MP f/1.8 rear camera capable of recording 4K videos @ 30 fps. It has an 8 MP f/2.4 front camera that is able to record HD videos @ 30 fps. Picture quality is fantastic and is often regarded as the best there is. While the Pixel has the 12.3 MP rear camera also capable of 4K videos @ 30 fps and an 8 MP front camera.
For the onboard drive, the Pixel 2 comes in with 64/128 GB variant without support for expandable storage. The Pixel has 32/128 GB and does not support expansion as well.
The Google Pixel 2 hit the right spot in placing its dual front-firing stereo speakers. One of which is located beside the earpiece and while the other is towards the bottom. Audio quality is magnificent, especially in landscape mode.
The Pixel 2 retained its rear-mounted fingerprint reader which is very accessible and within reach. Performance is snappy and very accurate.
It is equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 with eight cores and worked really well with the device. It is very fast with barely any noticeable lag. Its predecessor, the Pixel, has the Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 with four cores.
Powering the device is a 2700 mAh battery which is quite small in comparison to most Android phones nowadays but the Pixel 2 does a really great job of managing its resources well. It can sustain conversations for up to 15.5 hours, web surfing for 12 hours and video playback for 11 and it also supports fast charging.
The Pixel 2 is rated IP67 making it dustproof and water-resistant for depths of up to 1 meter for 30 mins.
