You cannot connect your AirTag to another device until you remove it from the protective plastic it comes packaged in. Before you try to set up your AirTag, make sure you've completely removed it from it's packaging.

How Do I Remove My AirTag From Plastic Wrap?

  1. Remove your AirTag from the box it comes in.
  2. Peel the plastic cover from the surface of your AirTag.
  3. Pull the plastic battery tab out of the AirTag to activate the battery. Your AirTag will make a noise when you do this.

What if my AirTag didn’t make a noise when I pulled the tab and some of the tab is still in the AirTag?

Hi Tina! If a piece of the pull tab is still in your AirTag, you can just remove the metal cover and battery from the back and pull the tab out by hand.
