Best Cell Phone Plans With HBO Max In 2024

According to Statista, HBO Max is one of the most popular streaming services, with 142 million subscribers in 2017. The number has only increased since then.

HBO Max's rate rivals Netflix's premium tier at about the same price point, which can get expensive from month to month. Carriers have begun adding streaming services like HBO Max to their premium plans as an added incentive. In this article, I'll tell you about the best cell phone plans that include HBO Max!

Watch Your Favorite Shows On HBO Max

You're never going to believe this, but one of my professors last semester gave me an unusual assignment: watch the first and the last season of Friends. I laughed and said to myself, “This is going to be easy! I have Netflix!”

Unfortunately, Friends had just moved from Netflix to HBO Max. Rats! I wound up finding another solution to complete my bizarre assignment, but it would have been much easier with an HBO Max subscription.

HBO Max isn't just good for watching Friends. There are tons of great shows like Batwoman, The Wire, Sex and the City, Rick and Morty, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones! There's a lot of value for the amount and quality of shows that HBO Max provides.

Bundles and Packaged Services

Many unlimited plans offer subscriptions to services like HBO Max. Although these plans might look pretty expensive, you're getting a lot of value beyond minutes, messages, and data.

Before you make the decision to get an unlimited plan with HBO Max, ask yourself this question: do I really need an unlimited plan?

If you aren't using a lot of data every month, you may be better off skipping the unlimited plan and purchasing an HBO Max subscription separately. Watch the video below, or check out our other article to figure out if you need unlimited data.

AT&T Unlimited Elite

AT&T's Unlimited Elite plan is one of the few plans that includes HBO Max. Other carriers offer similar streaming service bundles, but AT&T exclusively has HBO Max.

With AT&T's Unlimited Elite plan, you'll get next-generation 5G connectivity access, as well as advanced mobile security and the entire selection of HBO Max's library.

You'll also benefit from 30 GB of high-speed mobile hotspot each month to keep your other devices connected. I don't know about you, but 30 GB of data is more than enough for me. I can't imagine using that much data in a month, but it will be useful if you stream a lot of TV shows and movies on HBO Max using another device, like an iPad or laptop.

Do Other Carriers Have HBO Max?

Unfortunately, AT&T is the only wireless carrier that offers a cell phone plan with HBO Max. Other carriers offer different streaming service options in their unlimited plan bundles — just not HBO Max. Let's explore your other options.

Verizon Get More Unlimited

Although Verizon's Get More Unlimited plan doesn't include HBO Max, you'll still get an insane amount of value. Verizon offers Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. Three streaming services, all in one bundle? It doesn't get much better than this.

With Verizon's Get More Unlimited Plan, you can enjoy all of your favorite animated Disney movies on Disney+, along with the Star Wars and Marvel films. Recently, I've been on a Gravity Falls binge on Hulu, which includes plenty of great options for TV shows and cartoons. My sporty friends also love the variety that ESPN+ provides.

T-Mobile Magenta

T-Mobile is currently the only cell phone carrier that bundles Netflix with their plans. If you're a fan of Netflix and need an unlimited plan, T-Mobile's Magenta plan is perhaps your best option.

If you like to stream movies and TV shows on the go, T-Mobile doesn't start throttling your usage until you hit 50 GB in one month. You won't get overage charges if you exceed this, but your streaming speeds will be slowed. It's pretty unlikely that you'll get that far though, so there's no need to worry.

In addition, T-Mobile Magenta also includes T-Mobile Tuesdays, a rewards program that gives you access to exclusive discounts and savings.

Cricket Wireless More

Cricket Wireless's More unlimited plans help you get unlimited data at an affordable price. Instead of a video streaming service, Cricket offers Deezer, the carrier's exclusive music streaming service.

Deezer is ad-free and includes access to millions of songs. Unfortunately, the plan only includes a free trial to Deezer, so I don't think it's worth it. You're probably better off paying for Spotify or Apple Music. However, if you love music and saving money on unlimited data, Cricket Wireless may be the way to go.

Google Fi Unlimited

The Google Fi Unlimited plan doesn't have a video streaming service option, so why is it on this list? Google Fi Unlimited comes with 100 GB of cloud storage.

Let's say that you have a bunch of movie files stored on your computer. You could use the cloud storage space from Google to access these movies from any of your devices, anytime and anywhere.

Of course, this is limited to the movies you already have on your computer. You won't be able to stream new movies without buying them first. Depending on your situation, it might be an affordable alternative to getting a cell phone plan with HBO Max.
