Best Cell Phone Plans For RVers

You're about to hit the road in your RV. Before you go, it's important to find a cell phone plan that'll help you stay connected to your family and friends no matter where you are. In this article, I'll tell you about the best cell phone plans for RVers!

What Do RVers Need In A Cell Phone Plans

If you're planning to spend a lot of time on the road in the coming months, staying connected to consistent internet access might prove a challenge.  For this reason, it's important for RVers to have a cell phone plan with a lot of cellular data. Mobile hotspot is also essential, as it'll help you connect your other devices to the internet when Wi-Fi is unavailable. After all, stopping at a coffee shop every time you need to surf the web would defeat the whole purpose of travelling in an RV!

Of course, all the cellular data in the world won't be useful if your carrier doesn't have service throughout the country. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all have pretty solid  high speed data coverage across the United States. While Verizon might be in lead for 4G coverage geographically, T-Mobile does have more low-band and mid-band 5G than any other carrier in the United States.

Unfortunately, it can be difficult for RVers to know where they'll need coverage, as they're zig-zagging all across the country. Check out our coverage maps to see which carriers have the best coverage in the areas you're planning to visit!

If you find a plan you like, but still worry about coverage in certain areas, consider getting a cell phone signal booster. Signal boosters help your phone connect to nearby cell towers and improve your reception. Check out our guide to learn about the best cell phone signal boosters and how you might benefit from using one.

There are also some good RV internet resources out there if you think investing in a mobile router would be worth it for your trip. If you'd rather spend your money on internet connection than cellular data plans, check out the Mobile Internet Resource Center for some good options!
