Set Up AirPods Max With iPad

AirPods Max take a few minutes to configure with a new device. If you’ve never set up your AirPods Max with your iPad before, we’ll show you how with these steps!

1. Go to the Home screen on your iPad.
2. Take your AirPods Max out of their case.
3. Hold your AirPods Max next to your iPad.
4. Wait for the AirPods Max animation to appear on your iPad’s display.
5. Tap Connect.
6. Select See & Hear How It Works to configure more AirPods Max preferences.
7. Tap Done.

Why this works:

AirPods Max don’t pair to new devices the same way your average pair of Bluetooth headphones might. Thankfully, their set up process is almost as quick and easy.

Make sure your AirPod Max and iPad are nearby, then complete the steps below to get them working together!

Pro tip:

• Make sure you hold your AirPods by your iPad within one minute of taking them out of the case.
• If your iPad is signed in to iCloud, every other iCloud device you have should automatically connect to your AirPods Max.
